Basketball Game Preview: Zion-Benton Zee-Bees vs. Lake Zurich Bears

Zion-Benton hasn't had much luck against Lake Zurich recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Zion-Benton Zee-Bees will host the Lake Zurich Bears at 7:00 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Zion-Benton is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Harvard on Monday. Zion-Benton took a 46-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harvard. The Zee-Bees have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Zion-Benton had strong showings from Victoria Hunter, who went 7 for 13 on her way to 15 points and five rebounds, and London Davis, who posted nine points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Hunter a new career-high in points.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Lake Zurich's good fortune finally ran out last Saturday. They fell 51-39 to Loyola Academy.

Lake Zurich's defeat dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Zion-Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Zion-Benton was taken down by Lake Zurich 57-8 when the teams last played back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Zion-Benton was down 34-7.
