Basketball Recap: Jeremiah Johnson's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Beamer over Auburn Mountainview

Beamer's game on Friday was all tied up 30-30 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 65-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Auburn Mountainview Lions. While losing is never fun, the Titans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Lions are ranked 25th).

Beamer's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jeremiah Johnson, who posted nine points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Davis, who put up seven points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Beamer smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Auburn Mountainview only pulled down eight offensive boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburn Mountainview to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sebastian Arius, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 boards. Arius is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Kolven Posey, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 21 points and five assists.

Beamer's record is now 10-6. As for Auburn Mountainview, the win keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

Beamer wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, an 86-67 victory against Kentlake on the 21st. Auburn Mountainview has also already played their next game, an 85-55 win against Enumclaw on the 21st.
