Soccer Game Preview: Lugoff-Elgin vs. Ridge View

The Lugoff-Elgin Demons will face off against the Ridge View Blazers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Lugoff-Elgin is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to five goals on Friday, they were much more limited against Blythewood on Tuesday. They came up short against the Bengals, falling 6-0. The loss continues a trend for Lugoff-Elgin in their meetings with Blythewood: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Ridge View lost 4-1 to Spring Valley on Tuesday. Liam Mueller was hit with a yellow card, which may have had some impact on his (and the team's) ability to make aggressive plays.

Ridge View's goal came courtesy of Issaija Yohannes, which was the first he's scored this season.

Lugoff-Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Ridge View, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Lugoff-Elgin beat Ridge View 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2025. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Blazers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
