Chireno had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.2 points) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by the Shelbyville Dragons to the tune of 69-29. The Owls have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 22 points or more this season.

Chireno's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for Shelbyville, their defeat was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 12-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Chireno and San Augustine will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on December 31st. As for Shelbyville, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Hemphill at 1:00 p.m. on December 31st.
