It was a proper cat-fight when Sandy Creek challenged Fillmore Central on Saturday. The Cougars came out on top against the Panthers by a score of 2-0. The Cougars were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Panthers, so the Cougars were just returning the favor.

Sandy Creek not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Fillmore Central between 16 and 17 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-16.

Sandy Creek found their leader in freshman Emersyn Pohlmeier, who had 18 digs.

When it comes to explaining why Fillmore Central lost, don't look at Ashlynn Childs. Despite the final result, she had 11 digs and two assists. Childs has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last nine times she's played.

Sandy Creek is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Fillmore Central, their loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5.
