Basketball Recap: Mountain View Comes Up Short

Mountain View was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They took a blow against the Dacula Falcons, falling 67-22. The Bears were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-13.

Jaliyah Benefield was her usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-6 from downtown and dropping a double-double on 25 points and 12 rebounds for Dacula. Those 12 boards gave Benefield a new career-high. Asia Bryant was another key player, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.

Mountain View's record now sits at 1-19. As for Dacula, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain View will take on Collins Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain View has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Dacula, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Dacula Falcons duke it out with the Mill Creek Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
