Etowah had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Sand Rock on Saturday. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 11-2 win. Considering the Blue Devils' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Etowah is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Sand Rock, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season.
