Baseball Game Preview: Nimitz Cougars vs. Westfield Mustangs

For the second straight game, Nimitz will face off against Westfield. Nimitz will take on Westfield at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Nimitz turned things around against Westfield on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Mustangs by a score of 10-5. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Cougars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Alberto Cerino was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Curtis, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Nimitz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Westfield only posted an OBP of .405.

Nimitz's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-10. As for Westfield, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-13.
