It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but New Hope ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Pontotoc Warriors. The win was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won ten contests in a row.

Kaselyn Harcrow spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Presley Kate Boutwell and Tatum McBride did most of the damage at the plate: Boutwell went 1-for-4 with three RBI and one double, while McBride scored two runs while going 2-for-4. Those three RBI gave Boutwell a new career-high.

New Hope's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-6. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Pontotoc, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-7.

New Hope will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Warriors: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
