Baseball Recap: Wynford Wins Going Away Against Bucyrus

Wynford not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 27, 2024 (when they won 23-4). Everything went their way against the Bucyrus Redmen as they made off with an 18-1 win. The Royals haven't had any issues with the Redmen recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Brayden Campbell and Landon Miller made a splash no matter where they played. Throwing, Campbell struck out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Miller tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Campbell has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. At the plate, Campbell went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Miller went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four stolen bases gave Miller a new career-high.

In other batting news, Wynford got a massive performance out of Drew Johnson, who went 3-for-4 with four runs, two RBI, and one double. Those four runs gave Johnson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Reed Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Wynford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .550. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bucyrus only posted an OBP of .118.

Wynford's win bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Bucyrus, they are on a 23-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Wynford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Redmen: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
