Baseball Game Preview: Logansport Tigers vs. DeQuincy Tigers

We've got a battle between Tigers coming up. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.

Logansport took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They never let Woodlawn-Shreveport get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, DeQuincy made easy work of Grand Lake on Thursday and carried off a 13-1 victory. Considering the Tigers have won four matchups by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Turner Rodriquez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one hit in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Nolan Schrader, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since February 4th. Another player making a difference was Rahley Royer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

DeQuincy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Logansport's record is now 3-5. As for DeQuincy, their record is now 7-5.

Logansport suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to DeQuincy in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. Can Logansport avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
