Basketball Recap: Jaliah Jackson and Jane Moreland Secure Win for Millbrook

Millbrook entered their tilt with Mountain Ridge on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 51-43 win over the Mountain Ridge Miners.

Millbrook was led to victory by Jane Moreland and Jaliah Jackson. Moreland almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards, while Jackson went 7 of 9 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five blocks. The dominant performance gave Moreland a new career-high in points.

Several Miners players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taylor Lamberson, who posted 12 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kealana Pua?Auli, who put up 13 points.

Millbrook has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. As for Mountain Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Millbrook wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 57-48 defeat against Avonworth on the 28th. As for Mountain Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-45 victory against Trinity on the 28th.
