Recap: Muleshoe Mules vs. Olton Mustangs
The Muleshoe Mules kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They fell just short of Olton by a score of 37-34. Muleshoe lost against Olton in their previous head to head back in December of 2020, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 73-41 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Muleshoe lost, one person who can't be blamed is Adam Alarcon. Despite the final result, he scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Sebastian Kirven, who scored 7 points.
Muleshoe's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Olton, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Muleshoe will take on Shallowater at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shallowater presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Muleshoe in Texas (Shallowater is ranked 216th, while Muleshoe is ranked 953rd). As for Olton, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Borger at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Borger is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
