Recap: Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers vs. All Saints' Academy Saints

This season hasn't been kind to the Ridgeview Global Studies Academy Explorers , who are still winless after their fifth match. They took a 70-53 bruising from All Saints' Academy on Thursday. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy lost against All Saints' Academy in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 44-34 score last time.

Jacob English and Travis Babers certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. English scored 12 points, while Babers scored 12 points. Those 12 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jordan Williamson was another key contributor, scoring eight points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead All Saints' Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Claudarius Bell, who scored 22 points along with four steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Bell has scored at least 25% of All Saints' Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaelen Randall, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 steals.

Ridgeview Global Studies Academy bumped their record down to 0-5 with that defeat, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for All Saints' Academy, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeview Global Studies Academy will square off against Mulberry at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mulberry knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five games -- so hopefully Ridgeview Global Studies Academy likes a good challenge. All Saints' Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Winter Haven Christian at 7:30 p.m. on January 5th.
