Baseball Recap: Geneva Extends Road Winning Streak to Four

While Geneva's victory against Legacy Charter wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Geneva Knights won by a run and slipped past the Legacy Charter Eagles 9-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Knights have posted since April 24, 2024.

The team relied heavily on Tyson Hilliard, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Kale Blanchette also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Geneva's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.5 runs over those games. As for Legacy Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-7.

Looking ahead, Geneva will take on Calvary Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on March 24th. Geneva's pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so Calvary Christian Academy's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Legacy Charter will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Lake Mary Prep at 6:00 p.m. on March 24th. Lake Mary Prep will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Legacy Charter surely won't give up without a fight.
