Volleyball Recap: Larned Indians vs. Hesston Swathers

After flying high against Macksville last Thursday, Larned came back down to earth. The Indians fell 2-0 to the Hesston Swathers on Tuesday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 2-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

While Larned ultimately came up short, they really made Hesston work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 26-24.

Jadyn Crosby paced Larned's offense, picking up five kills. Crosby got some help from Brooke Simmons and her five assists.

Callie Yoder was the offensive standout of the contest as she had 13 digs and one assist. That's the most digs she has posted over her last seven matchups.

Larned has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. As for Hesston, their win bumped their record up to 11-5.

Coincidentally, Larned and Hesston will both be playing Smoky Valley the next time they take the court. The Indians will host the Vikings on Tuesday, while the Swathers will play them later in the day, at 6:00 p.m.
