Soccer Game Preview: Granite Hills vs. Central

The Granite Hills Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the Central Spartans at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Granite Hills' defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Grossmont 1-0. The Eagles' winning goal came courtesy of Cohen Ruiz.

Meanwhile, Central hasn't lost a match yet, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 4-0 margin over Chula Vista. The result was nothing new for Central, who have now won six contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Central's victory bumped their record up to 9-0-2. As for Granite Hills, the win got them back to even at 3-3-2.

Granite Hills came up short against Central when the teams last played back in December of 2022, falling 3-1. Can Granite Hills avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
