Basketball Game Preview: Clovis Cougars vs. Clovis West Golden Eagles

Clovis is 0-10 against Clovis West since January of 2020 but things could change on Tuesday. The Clovis Cougars are taking a road trip to take on the Clovis West Golden Eagles at 5:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Clovis is headed into Tuesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Friday. They took a 67-48 bruising from Clovis East. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 385th, while the Timberwolves are ranked 92nd).

Meanwhile, Clovis West took a blow against Salesian College Preparatory on Monday, falling 81-42. The contest marked the Golden Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Clovis West and nudges their season record down to 9-13. As for Clovis, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 9-13.

Clovis suffered a grim 86-60 defeat to Clovis West when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Clovis avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
