Volleyball Recap: DeKalb Takes a Loss

DeKalb was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Carroll Chargers, falling 3-0. The Barons were not able to make up for their loss to the Chargers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

DeKalb took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-5, 25-9, 25-13.

Carroll found their leader in sophomore Haffner Cala, who had 11 digs and two aces.

DeKalb's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Carroll, the win (which was their 15th in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 2-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. DeKalb will take on Fremont at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carroll, they will challenge Penn at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
