Basketball Recap: Lyndsay Helms Key Part of Team Effort in Demons Win

With a playoff win on the line, Glenwood Springs rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They took down the Cheyenne Mountain Red-Tailed Hawks 51-33. This was payback for the Demons, who suffered a 37-35 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Glenwood Springs got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lyndsay Helms out in front who went 6-for-15 en route to 16 points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Helms has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ivee Enewold, who earned 13 points and four steals.

Glenwood Springs was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. They are 10-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Glenwood Springs' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.3 points over those games. As for Cheyenne Mountain, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.

Glenwood Springs will square off against Mullen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Cheyenne Mountain does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
