Football Game Preview: Line Mountain Eagles vs. Middletown Blue Raiders

The Line Mountain Eagles will head out to take on the Middletown Blue Raiders at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Line Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past six matchups -- so hopefully Middletown likes a good challenge.

Line Mountain is headed into the contest having just posted their closest victory since September 20, 2024 on Friday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Steelton-Highspire, sneaking past 36-34.

Line Mountain's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kaiden Maurer, who threw for 216 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. What's more, Maurer racked up 151 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. A healthy portion of Maurer's aerial production (119 yards to be exact) went to Dalton Schadel, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Meanwhile, while it was all tied up 0-0 at halftime, Middletown was not quite Susquehanna Township's equal in the second half on Friday. They lost 21-0 to the HANNA. The game marked the first time this season in which the Blue Raiders were not able to get on the board.

Line Mountain's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Middletown, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-3 record this season.
