Baseball Recap: Carver Birmingham Makes It Four in a Row at Home

Carver Birmingham hadn't done well against Wenonah recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Rams beat the Dragons by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 18-2. Considering the Rams have won 14 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tyveon Smith was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Smith was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Carver Birmingham got a massive performance out of Isaiah Simon, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Simon has become a key player for the Rams: the team is 8-0-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 10-13 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Scott, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

Carver Birmingham kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wenonah only managed one hit.

Carver Birmingham pushed their record up to 18-13-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.8 runs over those games. As for Wenonah, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.

Carver Birmingham has already played their next contest, a 9-7 victory against Cornerstone on the 16th. Wenonah does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
