Recap: Saugerties Sawyers vs. Hunter-Tannersville Wildcats
The Saugerties Sawyers won the last time they faced the Hunter-Tannersville Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Saugerties blew past Hunter-Tannersville 81-21 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-11.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Saugerties to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lauren Stinemire, who scored six points along with seven assists and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Stinemire has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Viola Myers, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and four blocks.
Saugerties now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Hunter-Tannersville, their loss was their third straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Saugerties has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Our Lady of Lourdes at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hunter-Tannersville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Charlotte Valley at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
