Maurepas hasn't had much luck against Doyle recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Wolves will welcome the Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Doyle will be up against a hot Maurepas team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Wolves never let False River get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Saturday.
Kade Penalber made a big impact no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs.
In other batting news, Parker Crawford was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Alex Aime was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Maurepas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .647. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as False River only posted a batting average of .000.
Meanwhile, Doyle put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Family Christian.
Kellie Haven looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched.
Maurepas' win bumped their record up to 19-5. As for Doyle, their victory bumped their record up to 26-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Maurepas has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Doyle struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
