Basketball Recap: Greenville Green Wave vs. Fairborn Skyhawks
The Greenville Green Wave's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight defeat. They lost to Fairborn on the road by a decisive 56-37 margin. Greenville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Skyhawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Greenville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chace Drew, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Drew Hamilton, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks.
Greenville has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-17 record this season. As for Fairborn, the victory got them back to even at 9-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greenville will take on the Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Fairborn, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pirates at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. West Carrollton is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
