Basketball Recap: Arthur-Okaw Christian Continues Home Dominance on Thursday + How To Watch

Arthur-Okaw Christian won the last time they faced Rantoul and Avery Herschberger did her part to make sure it happened again. The Conquering Riders walked away with a 58-46 win over the Eagles on Thursday thanks in part to Herschberger, who went 5-for-12 en route to 19 points along with eight assists and seven boards. She has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played.

Lilian Beever was another key player, putting up 13 points. She also put up a block, which was her first of the season.

Despite the loss, Rantoul still got an impressive performance from Josie Roseman, who posted 17 points. Another player making a difference was Necely Betancourt, who earned six points.

Arthur-Okaw Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points on average this season. As for Rantoul, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Arthur-Okaw Christian will venture away from home to challenge Kankakee Trinity Academy at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Rantoul, they will head out to square off against Urbana University at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
