Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Tharptown

Tharptown entered their tilt with Clements on Friday with two consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 7-6 W against the Clements Colts.

Alyssa Fischer made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up six earned runs off nine hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three doubles, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Ashton Tharp was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Lexi Little was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Tharptown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.

The win got Tharptown back to even at 5-5. As for Clements, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Coming up, Tharptown will be playing in front of their home fans against Shoals Christian at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Clements, they will welcome Athens Bible at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
