Basketball Recap: Westlake Comes Up Short

If Westlake was feeling good fresh off their 80-50 takedown of Midland last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Westlake Rams fell 74-66 to the Lacassine Cardinals on Saturday. The loss was the Rams' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Westlake fell to 3-1. As for Lacassine, the win was the 11th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westlake and Hathaway will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Westlake's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Lacassine, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lacassine Cardinals take on the Eunice Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lacassine knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 12 matches -- so hopefully Eunice likes a good challenge.
