Basketball Game Preview: Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles vs. Baldwyn Bearcats

Tupelo Christian Prep and Baldwyn are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Tupelo Christian Prep Eagles will face off against the Baldwyn Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tupelo Christian Prep comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Tupelo Christian Prep is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Wheeler on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Tupelo Christian Prep was outmatched by Wheeler and fell 59-7. Tupelo Christian Prep was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 34-6.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Baldwyn duked it out withBiggersville on Friday. Baldwyn took a blow against Biggersville, falling 57-26. While losing is never fun, the Bearcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Lions are ranked 58th).

Baldwyn dropped their record down to 2-14 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Tupelo Christian Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Tupelo Christian Prep was taken down by Baldwyn 57-9 in their previous meeting back in December of 2022. Can Tupelo Christian Prep avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
