Softball Recap: Tigard's Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

Tigard dropped their record down to 13-11 on Wednesday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Tualatin Timberwolves by a score of 7-6. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for Tualatin, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 14-10. That's two games straight that they have won by just one run.

For Tualatin's part, Reese Strode spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits. Strode has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Tigard is set to face off against their familiar foe Lakeridge at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Tualatin will take on rival Oregon City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
