Basketball Recap: Floyd Comes Up Short

Floyd lost against Hagerman last Thursday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Floyd Broncos had to suffer through a 60-20 loss at the hands of the Hagerman Bobcats. The defeat leaves the Broncos without a win on the season.

Floyd's loss came despite strong showings from Aaron Blakely and Issak Bustamante. Blakely posted 11 points, while Bustamante had six points.

Hagerman was led to victory by Jevon Aguilar and Jordan Aguilar. Jevon put up 16 points in addition to eight assists and six steals, while Jordan went 10 for 17 on his way to 21 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The contest was Jevon's tenth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Felix Chacon, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 10 points and seven boards.

Floyd's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Hagerman, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Floyd wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 46-40 defeat against Dora on the 13th. As for Hagerman, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-62 loss against Non Varsity Tournament Opponent on the 13th.
