Baseball Game Preview: South Lyon Lions vs. Milford Mavericks

For the second straight game, South Lyon will face off against Milford. The Lions will head out on the road to take on the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. South Lyon will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

South Lyon's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Milford as they made off with a 10-0 victory. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Mavericks recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Chris Mathis, who gave up just four hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Milford off the board.

At the plate, Gavin Crowley was a standout: he went 2-for-5 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Aiden Robinson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

South Lyon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The victory got South Lyon back to even at 4-4. As for Milford, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
