Flag Football Recap: Mary Persons Comes Up Short

Mary Persons fell victim to Columbus and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 27-0 defeat at the hands of the Blue Devils. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia flag football rankings (they are ranked 149th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 15th).

Olivia Crews threw for 50 yards on seven of 18 attempts.

Columbus found their leader in sophomore Lauren Wiggins, who picked up 59 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Mary Persons' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Columbus, their win was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Mary Persons has already played their next game, a 12-0 victory against Central on the 10th. As for Columbus, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 20-0 win against Rockdale County on the 12th.
