Softball Game Preview: Western Wayne Wildcats vs. Honesdale Hornets

The Western Wayne Wildcats will face off against the Honesdale Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Western Wayne and six for Honesdale.

Western Wayne lost 16-6 to Mid Valley on Thursday.

Hannah DeStefano made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Khloe Mistishin was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.

Meanwhile, Honesdale fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Carbondale Area on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 5-4.

Western Wayne's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Honesdale, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.
