Basketball Recap: Tysen Burton's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Peak to Peak over Eaton + How To Watch

Peak to Peak was the 51-39 winner over Eaton when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Pumas took a 58-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Reds on Tuesday. While the Pumas didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Reds 15-5 in the first quarter.

Peak to Peak's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tysen Burton, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten boards. Burton has been hot for a while, having also posted two or more steals the last 15 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Dane Hirt, who posted 18 points.

Eaton had a senior duo take command as Ely Madaleno went 8-for-12 on his way to 22 points and seven rebounds and Austin Crider dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten boards. Rowen Meissinger was another key player, putting up eight points.

Peak to Peak's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Eaton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-1.

Looking ahead, Peak to Peak will take on Glenwood Springs in a tournament on Thursday. As for Eaton, they will host The Classical Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
