Basketball Recap: Lumberton Takes a Loss

Lumberton was the 43-40 winner over Resurrection Catholic when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Lumberton Panthers fell just short of the Resurrection Catholic Eagles by a score of 37-35 on Wednesday.

Resurrection Catholic found their leader in sophomore Simeon Ballard, who posted seven points in addition to 15 boards and five blocks. Ballard is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Judd Burlison, who earned 13 points.

Lumberton now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Resurrection Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-10 record this season.

Lumberton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 66-60 loss against Enterprise on the 31st. As for Resurrection Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-40 defeat against East Marion on the 30th.
