Baseball Game Preview: Randolph County Tigers vs. Wellborn Panthers

Randolph County is a perfect 4-0 against Wellborn since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought as Randolph County Tigers face off against Wellborn Panthers at 4:00 p.m. Randolph County is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with nine losses in a row, Randolph County turned things around against Wellborn on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 21-4 win. The Tigers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Michael Robinson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs and four RBI.

In other batting news, Daniel Jones and Creed Blankenship did most of the damage at the plate: Jones scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Blankenship scored three runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave Blankenship a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Pinson, who scored three runs while getting on base in two of his five plate appearances.

Randolph County's victory bumped their record up to 2-9. As for Wellborn, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
