Soccer Game Preview: North vs. La Joya Community

The North Mustangs will head out to challenge the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. North's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

North fell victim to Catalina Foothills and their airtight defense on Monday. They came up short against the Falcons, falling 6-0.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, La Joya Community made sure to put some goals up on the board against Fairfax on Monday. They never let the Stampede onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. That looming 5-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Fighting Lobos yet this season.

They hit Fairfax with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Brylee Garland (2), Stephanie Morales, Alexyah Marquez, and Abigail Navarro.

North now has a losing record at 2-3. As for La Joya Community, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1-1.

North came out on top in a nail-biter against La Joya Community in their previous meeting back in December of 2019, sneaking past 1-0. Will North repeat their success, or does La Joya Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
