Baseball Recap: Questa's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Questa came tearing into Monday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Mesa Vista Trojans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 21-0 on Monday.

Noah Rael was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. He has become a key player for Questa: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-4 otherwise.

In other batting news, Ricardo Leon Jr. was incredible, firing off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-3. Those two home runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Garcia, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-1.

Questa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. They are 4-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Questa's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Mesa Vista, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, Questa and Mesa Vista will both be playing McCurdy the next time they take the field. The Trojans will head out to face the Bobcats at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wildcats will head out to face them at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
