Baseball Recap: Lake Brantley Triumphs

It's playoff time, and Lake Brantley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Apopka Blue Darters on Tuesday, sneaking past 5-4. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Blue Darters recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Elijah Guzman looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Andrew Barr, who went 2-for-3 with one home run. Cameron Penney was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Lake Brantley's win bumped their record up to 16-9-1. As for Apopka, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-10 record this season.

Lake Brantley will square off against Lake Mary at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Apopka does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
