Basketball Recap: South Plantation Comes Up Short

After flying high against South Broward on Wednesday, South Plantation came back down to earth. The South Plantation Paladins fell to the Lake Worth Trojans 55-49. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Paladins came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 99th, while the Trojans are ranked 353rd).

Despite the loss, South Plantation still got an impressive performance from Lathan Coleman, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and ten rebounds. What's more, Coleman also racked up four steals, the most he's had since back in November of 2023. Travis Chin was another key player, going 7 for 15 on his way to 18 points.

South Plantation's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Lake Worth, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-5.

South Plantation and West Hall will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on December 27th. As for Lake Worth, they will square off against Newberry at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th.
