Basketball Recap: Yellow Medicine East Comes Up Short

Yellow Medicine East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were beaten by the B O L D Warriors 72-41. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Sting of the 71-39 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.

B O L D's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jack Gross, who went 9 for 17 on his way to 25 points in addition to five boards and three blocks. Gross' evening made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Will Penkert, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and seven rebounds.

Yellow Medicine East's loss dropped their record down to 2-15. As for B O L D, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Yellow Medicine East will venture away from home to take on Lac qui Parle Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for B O L D, they will head out to square off against Cedar Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Cedar Mountain knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 14 matches -- so hopefully B O L D likes a good challenge.
