Softball Game Preview: Lewis County Panthers vs. Battle Creek Grizzlies

The Lewis County Panthers will square off against the Battle Creek Grizzlies at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Lewis County will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lewis County duked it out with Santa Fe on Tuesday. Lewis County blew past Santa Fe 11-1. Fans of the Panthers have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Lewis County got a big performance out of Kabry Adkins, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Another player making a difference was Taya Tiller, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Lewis County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Battle Creek's offense. They came up short against Columbia Central on Monday, falling 16-0. Having soared to a lofty 21 runs in the game before, the Grizzlies' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Lewis County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Battle Creek, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
