Football Recap: Washington Union Falls Despite Big Games from Mckinley Williams and Jareal Albert

Washington Union was the 25-24 winner over Dinuba when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Panthers received a blow on Friday as they fell 42-26 to the Emperors. The loss was the Panthers' first of the season.

Despite the loss, Washington Union had strong showings from Jareal Albert, who rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and Mckinley Williams, who threw for 152 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 80% of his passes.

Leading Dinuba to victory were NATHANIEL LOPEZ and TONY IBARRA. LOPEZ gained 174 total yards and four touchdowns, while IBARRA threw for 157 yards and three TDs. The dominant performance also gave IBARRA a new career-high in rushing yards (107). Dinuba's leading receiver LORENZO WILLIAMS was IBARRA's top target yet again, picking up 98 receiving yards and one score.

Having lost for the first time this season, Washington Union fell to 3-1. As for Dinuba, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-2.

Washington Union didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-6 victory against Coalinga on the 26th. As for Dinuba, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hanford at 7:30 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Emperors' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
