Basketball Recap: Batavia Comes Up Short

Batavia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Eastridge Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Blue Devils can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 512th, while the Lancers are ranked 47th).

Batavia's defeat dropped their record down to 1-19. As for Eastridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Batavia nor Eastridge have any future games scheduled.
