Freeman's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the J.R. Tucker Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mavericks have posted against the Tigers since April 14, 2023.

Caroline Baird spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.
