Freeman's game on Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the J.R. Tucker Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mavericks have posted against the Tigers since April 14, 2023.

Caroline Baird spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Annie Keating, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayleigh Perks, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Freeman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. They are 2-1 when they post two or more home runs.

Freeman is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for J.R. Tucker, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-7.

Freeman wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-6 win against Hermitage on the 4th. As for J.R. Tucker, they have also already played their next matchup, a 15-5 victory against James River Midlothian on the 4th.
