Baseball Recap: Richland Takes a Loss

Richland had lost eight straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 1-12 to make it nine. They fell just short of the Delta Bobcats by a score of 6-5. If the Rebels were looking for revenge after losing 14-0 to the Bobcats when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for Delta, with the win, they broke their nine-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-17. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted since May 10, 2024.

For Delta's part, the team relied heavily on Levi Williams, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run. Those three stolen bases gave Williams a new career-high. Jase Anglin was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one double.

Coming up, Richland will face off against Zalma at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Delta, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 6-5 win against the Bears on the 7th.
