Baseball Game Preview: Highland Park Scots vs. Como Park Cougars

Highland Park is 9-1 against Como Park since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Scots will head out to take on the Cougars at 4:30 p.m. Highland Park will be strutting in after a victory while Como Park will be coming in after a defeat.

On Friday, Highland Park beat Minneapolis South 8-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scots.

Highland Park hit Como Park with a six-run third inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Cougars came up short against the Scots, falling 13-3. The Cougars have struggled against the Scots recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost meeting.

Como Park saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was John Corniea, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Highland Park pushed their record up to 11-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 9.8 runs. As for Como Park, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Everything went Highland Park's way against Como Park when the teams last played on Thursday, as Highland Park made off with a 13-3 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Scots since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
