Football Game Preview: St. Ansgar Saints vs. Postville Pirates

The St. Ansgar Saints will face off against the Postville Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Ansgar has five straight victories, Postville has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

St. Ansgar's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 36-0 win over Nashua-Plainfield. Fans of the Saints have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Meanwhile, Postville fell victim to Starmont and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Stars and fell 63-0.

Postville's loss dropped their record down to 0-5. As for St. Ansgar, their victory bumped their record up to 5-0.

Everything came up roses for St. Ansgar against Postville in their previous matchup back in September of 2019, as the team secured a 72-6 win. Will the Saints repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
