Volleyball Recap: Needville Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Needville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They came out on top against the Clear Lake Falcons by a score of 2-0 on Saturday.

Needville didn't let Clear Lake take a single set, but it sure wasn't easy: every set was decided by three points or less. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22.

Needville's offense was headlined by Sophia Zeitz and Ava Search, who picked up seven kills apiece. They were helped by Avery Polak and Kelsey Chumchal, who contributed eight assists each. Chumchal was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Despite the loss, Clear Lake still got an impressive performance from Natalie Herlambang, who had 12 digs and three assists. Herlambang is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Needville pushed their record up to 15-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Clear Lake, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-3 record this season.

Needville has already played their next game, a 2-1 victory against George Ranch on the 23rd. As for Clear Lake, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Barbers Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
